#10 – Foothills and Baroness

6 Aug

Summer Break! The next handful of episodes take place at Russ’s house because that is the only vacation we could afford. In this episode, we gab about People’s Porter from Foothills Brewing, or, as Russ pronounces it at the beginning, Froothills. Special thanks to Marc for sourcing this beer. You will hear the lip of the bottle chip during opening, and I am happy to report that we each only had bloody stool for a couple days after recording (because … glass chips … swallow … intestines … never mind). Also, when talking about the label, I mentioned the WPA style, which does in fact stand for Works Project Administration. The name I was searching for was that of noted muralist Diego Rivera.

We went on to listen to “Take My Bones Away” off Yellow and Green, the new double album from Baroness. Since recording this episode, I’ve spent a lot more time with this album(s) and I just wanted to mention that the whole thing is really, really good.
